HOPE

HOPE

As part of Vienna Art Week 2026, the HGM will present the Austrian premiere of HOPE, a short film by the Iranian filmmaker Maryam Kouhestani, from 6 November.

The poetic work of the artist Maryam Kouhestani is dedicated to Iranian women’s struggle for freedom. They wage this struggle without weapons, acting both individually and in solidarity. The work reflects the idea that there is always room for hope as long as people strive to keep moving forward and get back up after a fall. For the artist, it is the strength and perseverance along the way that embody the essence of life.

The film was shot in the Abuzeydabad desert near the city of Kashan in Iran. It will have its Austrian premiere in 2026 as part of Vienna Art Week at the Museum of Military History.

Running from 6 to 13 November 2026; the installation in the Feldherrenhalle is accessible free of charge during museum opening hours. Please get a Vienna Art Week admission sticker from the ticket office. A valid museum ticket is required to visit the exhibitions.
